Dr Charlotte Gooding – Menopause Doctor

I am a GP with a special interest in Menopause care. I graduated from Newcastle medical school in 2008 and qualified as a GP in 2016 and have experience of working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Sexual health and Psychiatry.

I am based in a NHS GP practice in Newcastle where I am lead for Women’s Health. I am a member of the BMS and I am completing the BMS advanced certificate in menopause care. In my GP role I enjoy educating patients and health care professionals about menopause care and have run training sessions for staff and medical students.

I was inspired to take a pathway into menopause care after a placement in a specialist Menopause clinic as a trainee doctor. I saw the difference that good menopause care could make to women’s lives and wanted to strive for the best care for patients. This helped me develop a passion for empowering women to seek help and offering them support to make positive lifestyle choices at all stages of their lives.

Menopause can be a hugely challenging and emotive time and women can often feel misunderstood or unheard, however I believe that it can also be a really positive time in a woman’s life with the right help and support. I am here to offer you evidence based, up to date and holistic care based on your individual needs. I am absolutely delighted to be able to work as part of Naomi’s team and look forward to helping you on your menopause journey and supporting you in transforming your future health.

I am happiest outdoors and fortunate to live in the beautiful Northumberland countryside where I enjoy running and road biking – although I am very much still a novice! I am a big believer in the benefits of mindfulness and try to practice this as much as I can when I am not herding my three children and telling anyone who will listen about the menopause!
