Please allow roughly 45 minutes for a new patient consultation and 30 minutes for a follow up.

• Our care is completely bespoke to your needs. It’s not one size fits all.
• Your doctor will recommend how frequently you should come back for follow ups.
• For many women, at the start of their care with us, they will need appointments every 3 months. This means roughly 4 appointments in their first 12 months.
• However, some women only need an initial appointment and a follow up. They are then happy for their GP to provide continuing care.
• Those with more complex needs may need more appointments.
• Patients starting on HRT will need a review every 3 months.
• Patients changing the dose or type of HRT medication they are on, will likely need a review every 3 months.
• Once settled onto a stable prescription, women on HRT should have an annual review with their medication prescriber.

This depends. In women under 40 we use bloods to help with diagnosis. In women over 40 we use bloods to monitor absorption and for screening purposes if the woman chooses to.

For some blood tests, your GP will support you with those. We do not force you to have blood tests via us. We will accept blood tests from your GP.

If you do need blood tests, your doctor will let you know this during your appointment. It will also be included in your clinic letter which you will receive after your appointment. If you need to get blood tests via us, there is more information on blood test pricing here.

• You can cancel your plan every 3 months.
• Our plans work by spreading the cost of one appointment, and 3 months of treatment and support over a 3 month period. This is why our cancellation is quarterly.
• You are entitled to one expert doctor appointment every 3 months, £90 worth of medication and unlimited support.
• On average patients need four appointments in their first year, which is why our plans work this way.
• Some women may need more appointments initially (e.g. 2 in the first 3 months). If you use more than one expert appointment in the first 3 months, this will trigger an additional 3 months of payments as our plans work by spreading the costs of the services you use over 3 months.

• Our expert doctors can help and support all women.
• Our doctor plans are accessible to every patient who is looking for expert medical advice and support.

• Yes, you can have your first appointment in person on our personalised plans. The except to this is our Mayfair clinic, where prices differ.
• After your first in person appointment on the plan, you will then move to have your follow up appointments online.

• Many women seek our help at the start of a new treatment pathway.
• The majority of women will need appointments every 3 months if they start a new treatment or plan. This means 4 appointments in their first 12 months.
• We have designed the plan around this frequency of appointments.
• Patients starting on HRT will need a review every 3 months until they’re on a stable dose and type.
• Patients who change their HRT dose, or add in testosterone will need a review every 3 months until they’re on a stable dose and type.

• If you use more than one expert appointment in the first 3 months, this will trigger an additional 3 months of payments as our plans work by spreading the costs of the services you use over 3 months.

• On average, 3 months of medication with us will cost around £90. Therefore up to £90 of medication is included in the plan for no extra charge.
• If you are prescribed over £90 of medications, you will be emailed an invoice to pay for any additional medications.
• You can choose to access medications through us, or with your NHS GP. If you choose to take medication out of your plan, the price reduces to £69 per month.

• 30 minute 121 sessions, online with our Menopause Mentor Jane
• These are unlimited for all patients on a plan

Our menopause mentor Jane is an expert patient, who can support you through some of the more challenging moments you may have during menopause. She has been there and done it herself - having tried multiple different types of HRT and treatment to get back to feeling like herself. Her warmth and empathy can provide you with reassurance in the moments you need it. She is often most useful when women are changing treatments, or starting for the first time. She’s there when you just need to talk, but it’s not a medical appointment.

• We action prescription requests as soon as we see them but it can take up to 24 hours for the prescription to be generated.
• This then needs to be sent to a pharmacy
• This can result in it taking 1-4 working days before you actually receive it.
• If you prescription is urgent please mark so on it and we will endeavour to get it to you as quickly as possible.
• We will ship these prescriptions from our Menopause Care pharmacy unless requested otherwise.

• It is up to you.
• You can chose to obtain your prescription from your GP (with the exception of Androfeme and a few other less commonly prescribed items).
• This tends to be slightly cheaper but logistically more tricky as you may require a GP consultation and this may take time.
• Alternatively we can generate private prescriptions.
• This is faster, more convenient, is delivered to you at home but costs a little more.

• Private prescriptions are sent to our pharmacy, or occasionally external pharmacy providers, after the consultation.
  • Our pharmacy (the “Pharmacy“). is located at Unit 150, Verda Park, Hithercroft Road, Wallingford, OX10 9AT and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (“GPhC”) with number 9012134.
  • External pharmacy providers can be found at https://www.menopausecare.co.uk/prescribing-policy-and-process
  • External pharmacies will contact you to take payment and obtain delivery details.
• They are then delivered to you at your home or place of choice.
• If we advise medication and you wish to use this service, we will generate the private prescription on same day.
• Delivery is very quick, usually a couple of business days.

• Prescriptions are usually for 3 months.
• Unlike with other specialists, we do not charge an admin fee for a prescription generated within a consultation.
• A £37 admin fee is charged for prescriptions generated outside consultations to cover our costs.

No. You do not need to sign for your delivery.

Once your medications have been shipped, you will receive a Royal Mail tracking number that will allow you to follow your parcel. You may reschedule delivery using the Royal Mail tracking platform. If you have any other delivery queries, please contact pharmacy@menopausecare.co.uk

We do have a variety of Estradot patch strengths in stock at our Menopause Care pharmacy. This varies month to month. If you are a new patient, you will need to book an appointment to access our prescriptions. If you are an existing patients, please book into a follow up appointment or make a prescription request.

All medications on our Menopause Care pharmacy formulary are covered up to £90. If your medications are more than £90, you can pay a one off payment to cover the difference. Or alternatively, you can choose to only get some medications through us.

Medication can be removed from your monthly plan after your first appointment. This will reduce the cost of your monthly plans by £20 per month. This can only be actioned after your first month of care at £89.

• We do not offer discounts.
• We believe our prices to be fair and competitive and by offering some patients discounts and not others, it introduces confusion and unfairness.
• It would also be difficult to know where to draw the line.

• We take payment at point of booking to secure the booking.
• We offer full refunds if there is a change or cancellation prior to 48 business hours in advance of the appointment (an exception is our face to face clinics where there is a £25 charge) – see Terms and Conditions.
• Should you wish to reschedule an appointment within this 48 hour window refunds are not offered as it is unlikely we will be able to fill the slot.
• This is to cover our costs of a missed appointment as we may not be able to fill them at short notice.
• Should you cancel an appointment with less than 48 business hours of an appointment, no refund will be offered.
• This is because it is unlikely we will be able to rebook the missed slot.
• Refunds are returned via your original payment method. It can take a few days (up to 10 days) for this process to complete.
• This is governed by our payment system ‘Stripe’ and cannot be expedited.

• Occasionally we are asked for extra letters/ admin. Extra letters are charged at £50.
• This is to cover our time and typing costs.

• You can be confident we provide ongoing support and care.
• You should book a follow up consultation for approximately 3 months after you start treatment.
• Please book this plenty of time in advance.
• Should you have a simple query between appointments then please submit your query via email.
• If it is straightforward, we will answer and there is no charge.
• More complex or ongoing queries may require a consultation and this will be at our discretion with your safety at the heart of the decision.
• Repeated email queries will incur a charge or require a consultation.
• A shorter telephone consultation is chargeable at £115.

• You can request your GP takes your bloods for you but they are not under any obligation to do so, it is a favour rather than an expectation. In addition, they may not have access to all the bloods, particularly SHBG.
• You will need to take responsibility for having them done in good time for your appointment and for the results to be sent to us.
• We send all details of the bloods required in the clinic letter. Should your GP request this information please direct them to the clinic letter which you and they will have a copy of.

Most private clinics will not allow patients to have bloods done outside of their own clinic due to additional administrative work.

• We do allow this because we try to make our service accessible to as many women as possible but we cannot take responsibility for accessing results for bloods not generated by us.

Our all in personalised plans plans are the most affordable way to get care with us.

Yes, you must physically be in the UK to have your consultation with us, even if it is an online appointment. This is a legal requirement. We also do not ship medication outside of the UK.

We can provide care for patients in Northern Ireland, and ship medications there.

We can not provide care to patients located in any of the following areas:
Jersey: Jersey Care Commission.

  Even via virtual or video consultations, we can not provide care to patients who are abroad.
