When should I see a doctor about menopause?
If you're experiencing symptoms and struggling to manage them, it's a good idea to speak to a doctor. While you might feel nervous about starting the conversation, getting professional advice or talking to someone who understands what you’re going through can be helpful and very reassuring.
These are some common scenarios when I would advise seeking help;
- If your symptoms are impacting your life, relationships or work. For example, if you’re experiencing anxiety more than usual and it’s affecting your ability to carry out normal activities, or if hot flushes are making you feel embarrassed at work.
- If your symptoms have been dismissed by your GP or other doctor and you know there is something not right.
- If you have tried Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) but it hasn’t worked or you have experienced negative side effects.
- If you are worried about your symptoms.
- If you want to generally improve your health and seek guidance on what is best for you during this new phase of your life.
If any of these scenarios sounds familiar, we can help. Book a consultation with one of our trained specialists here at Menopause Care.
