Key information about Testogel
How and where to apply Testogel for women?
- 1
Choose a consistent application time
Testogel should be applied once daily, at the same time each day for consistency. It can be used morning or evening, depending on what fits best into your routine.
- 2
Choose where to apply the cream
Testogel should be applied to a clean, dry, and hair-free area of skin e.g the inner thigh or lower abdomen. Some women apply to their forearm, but this can increase the chances of transdermal transfer. Do not apply to your breasts or genitals.
- 3
Measure the correct dose
Women typically use a pea-sized amount (equivalent to approximately 0.5mL or 2.5mg of testosterone) as prescribed by their doctor. Massage the gel into the skin until fully absorbed.
- 4
Allow the gel to dry and wash your hands
Wait at least 10 minutes before getting dressed to prevent any cream transferring to your clothing. It is important to avoid washing, showering or swimming for at least 2 hours after applying Testogel. Testosterone needs time to fully absorb into the skin. Washing too soon reduces absorption, making the dose less effective. Sweat, soap, and water can remove or dilute the gel.

Benefits of Testogel
Testogel can provide benefits for women experiencing symptoms of low testosterone, particularly during menopause.
In the UK, the guidelines only refer to testosterone treatment being recommended when women have persistent struggles with low libido after trying HRT. There is strong evidence showing that testosterone replacement in menopausal women can:
- Boost libido – Helps improve sexual desire and responsiveness
There is emerging evidence to suggest that it also helps with:
- Increased energy levels – Reduces fatigue and enhances overall vitality
- Enhanced cognitive function – Supports memory, focus, and mental clarity
- Muscle and bone health – Helps maintain muscle mass and reduces the risk of osteoporosis
- Mood symptoms – Can reduce feelings of low mood, anxiety, and irritability
